London and City Health Authority (ELCHA)
supported three organistaion to set up smoking cessation services
for Turkish and Kurdish speaking communities in Hackney.
Derman,
Day-Mer Turkish and
Kurdish Community Centre and Dental Health Promotion Team of
City and Hackney Community Services NHS Trust have worked in coordination
with ELCHA. The role of managing the project was taken over by City
and Hackney Health Promotion in April 20001.
We
currently organise smokers clinics (group meetings) with Day-Mer
to give comprehensive smoking cessation program. We run three smokers
clinics in John Scot Health Centre.
