Welfare Rigths

The Welfare Rights Service project was set up in 1999 and supported by London Borough of Hackney. Our main aim with this project is reducing poverty levels in Kurdish and Turkish speaking communities in Hackney and also empover them to use their rights.

We provide information, assistance, advice on welfare rights issues including benefit, housing problems. Our welfare rights officer assists our clients to filling in various forms, making claims and acting as an advocate on behalf of clients. We also provide representation at Appeal Tribunals.

We accept refferrals from health advocates, Locality Mental Health Teams, GPs and other professionals and individuals.

We work at GP surgeries and health centres where is more convienent for the clients to access. You can also access other community organisations which provide welfare rights service.
