Advocacy
The
aim of the service is to investigate the particular difficulties
faced by pupils from Kurdish and Turkish speaking communities in
Hackney. This project is funded by BBC
Children in Need.
We
offer support to raise educational achievement rates. Our service
intends to offer the following;
- To
bring together the schools, parents, pupils and young persons
to devise strategies and plans to raise the educational achievement
levels of Kurdish and Turkish speaking pupils.
- Help
and support to develop parent-teacher realtionships by various
means like organising seminars which explain the British system
of education.
- Supporting
parents, pupils and young people by providing information flow
and suggestions and help with solving difficulties encountered
at school.
- To
enhance educational achievement levels by informing parents, pupils
and young people of further educational opportunities, like Saturday
school.
