Health Advocacy

Health Advocacy service is the first project that was set up in 1992 for Kurdish and Turkish Speaking Communities within our organisation in London Borough of Hackney. This project is funded by City and Hackney Primary Care NHS Trust.

The aim of the advocacy service is to enable our clients to be better informed and gained full access to health services.

We provide face-to-face advocacy service which includes interpreting, improving the appropriateness of health services and improving health outcomes, providing information and expertise to health professionals to facilitate the bridging of the cultural and language gap.

We work to enable and empower patients to make informed choices and challenge discrimination. We also assist health professionals in understanding the needs, aspiration, expectations and wishes of the Kurdish and Turkish speaking communities.

We work at GP surgeries, health centers and Homerton Hospital in Hackney. You can find our health advocates' working hours and clinics on this website.
