Mental Health Outreach

We primarily conduct outreach work within the Turkish and Kurdish communities in order to raise awareness around mental health issues. We also organise other means of prevention in order to reduce hospital admissions and establish and facilitate self-help and support groups.

We work with individuals to help them to gain awareness of how issues in their lives affect their well-being and encourage them to be in control of their lives and make their own choices. A key part of this work includes to de-stigmatise mental health within the community.

We also liaise with GPs and other mental health professionals to ensure that they are aware of particular issues faced by the Turkish and Kurdish communities in relation to their perception of mental illness, mental health services.
